Anuraag - To be loved back

Without Anuraag (will be explained below), there is no Bhagthi (devotional worship). Without Bhagthi, there is no Prem (love). And without Prem, where can one obtain the Bliss of the Aatma?
-
To rid oneself of any love of the world and to be in love with God is the highest Bhagthi
-
Just like an animal sees plants in someone’s hands and chases after them, the mind perceives the [pleasurable] characteristics of an object and then chases after it. As the attraction for the object grows, it begins to take root and becomes part of the mind’s nature.
-
To obtain Vaheguru, the most important thing is Shardha (faith). Without unbreakable faith in the existence of Vaheguru, liberation cannot be reached in any way. When the mind considers Vaheguru to be all powerful, master of all, within all, the utmost highest, etc. and considers Vaheguru to have all characteristics, the mind becomes infatuated with these characteristics. It begins to see itself as lacking and poor. Thus, one develops Anuraag with Vaheguru.
-
Anuraag
is a word combined from Anu and Raag. Anu means 'back' and Raag means 'love'. Thus, anuraag means to love back.
-
Vaheguru’s Nature is of love and enjoyment. Vaheguru loves all living beings. Vaheguru’s light within all living beings allows for love and companionship. This love is the Dharam of the Aatma and the mind.
-
First, Vaheguru loves the living being, then the living being sees the characteristics of Vaheguru and loves back. This is why this is called anuraag… it is “loving back”. By being lost in this love, the human begins to chant the name of Vaahiguroo. Thus, the river of the mind flows towards this chanting of the name (naam jap) and by itself the mind focuses (ikaagar) itself.
-
ikaagar
(ik + aagar). Ek = one = Vaheguru. Aagar = agai = before them. To stand before Vaheguru. To direct your attention towards Vaheguru is to be ikaagar.
