96 Crorhee
In Islam, many Muslims believe Bismillah to be written as 786. Among Nihung Singhs, there is a similar notion for the number: 96 Crori (960,000,000). This is a status that belongs to the Jathedar of the Shiromani Panth Akaali Budha Dal.
There are many discussions over the respective meanings of 96 Crori. Some refer to the count of Shaheed Singhs as 960,000,000. In the Puratan Sau Sakhi, it is written that when Khalsa Raaj occurs. then the Khalsa’s count will be 960,000,000 strong. The Raja of the Khalsa will be referred to as 96 Crori. Bhai Daya Singh Ji (Punj Piaare) heard about this prophecy and asked Kalgidhar Maharaj about how the Khalsa could become 96 Crore strong because at the time, there was not even one person ready to become a Singh. The Mughals killed whoever became a Singh. Kalgidhar Maharaj Ji commanded to Bhai Daya Singh Ji: Before the Khalsa becomes 960,000,000 strong, Maharaj will guide the wind in a certain way where whomever feels that wind will become a Singh (meaning there will be Beant Kirpa and waves upon waves of Khalsa will be prepared).
Dr. Trilochan Singh have written that the Southern Indian Bhagats have developed a special title also referred to as 96 Crori. Whoever repeats Prabhu’s Name 960,000,000 times, they are referred to as 96 Crori. There is a Sanskrit text called “Ram Rahsya Upanishad” which teaches how to chant Prabhoo’s Name 96,000,000 times.
The Older GurSikhs state that the meaning of 96 Crori refers to the Rosary of Clouds.
Like the 960,000,00 clouds, the Guru Panth Khalsa roars in battle. This is why the Khalsa’s Title is 96 Crori and the Jathedar is referred to as 96 Crori.
Some refer to the total number of the body’s pores as 3,500,000 and some refer to the total as 960,000,000. In that body which Vaheguru is remembered in each and every pore...
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
...that Mahapurakh is referred to as 96 Crori.
